Ms. Fontes received her undergraduate degree from Brown University (B.A. 2000) and her law degree from Suffolk University Law School (J.D. 2004, cum laude). While in law school, she was a member of the Suffolk Moot Court Honor Board and an editor for Suffolk’s Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy. Following law school, Ms. Fontes was a law clerk for the Honorable Paul L. Rudman of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. She is admitted to the State Bars of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island and to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Fontes is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Federal and American Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island and serves on the Defense Research Institute's Legislative Subcommittee.
Ms. Fontes concentrates her practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense, including personal and psychological injuries and professional negligence.
Ms. Fontes has been selected for inclusion in the Rhode Island Super Lawyers ® –Rising Stars Edition 2010. Super Lawyers selects attorneys for its yearly list using a rigorous, multiphase rating process. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list. |
